Thanksgiving weekend, Rachel and I made the trek out to Snowshoe with Ben and Steph and stayed with Burton at the Inn at Snowshoe at the base of the mountain. Because we could park in the main lot across from the village, it actually worked out pretty well, despite the fact that there was only one slope open. The weather was nice though and we still enjoyed the slushy spring-like conditions as we got our feet under us. We didn’t get to ride with Ben and Steph too much, but it was looking like Steph was doing better riding goofy than regular. Next time out she’ll probably have her bindings switched. Speaking of which, both of her highbacks cracked somehow on her new Roxy bindings prompting her to pick up a pair of Lexas at Full Tilt. She seems happy with them so far.
We did start a new tradition of sorts by picking up some 40oz. malt liquors at the Sheetz in VA. We saved them until we got ourselves settled and then let the party begin! I like Ben’s portable iPod speakers… I need some.
Sadly, we took no pictures of our first outing, so we’re just going to have to wait until a little later in the season (most likely New Year’s) before the photos begin flowing…
